Susato Pennywhistle, Oriole Model, High C

Item Number 9041472

Regular price $36.00

One of the finest pennywhistles around, the Susato line is known for its big, open sound and its accurate intonation. This is the "go to" whistle for many players, from the newest beginner to the most discriminating professional.

Made in the USA of durable (moisture-proof!) plastic, these whistles have a great tone quality. A fingering chart, vinyl pouch, and thumb rest are included with your whistle purchase.

We carry this whistle in both C and D - the D whistle might be more traditional, but the C instrument is perhaps a bit more flexible for players that are playing more contemporary music.

Good service, good price

Folkcraft answered my questions about the product and sent the Susato C whistle promptly. Price was good and the whistle arrived intact. No problems.

Excellent Whistle

It is really easy to play. You can get half steps with a little practice (though the included fingering chart is for a diatonic scale only). I’ve really enjoyed playing it.

Nice Pennywhistle

I'm glad I purchased this whistle on the recommendation of Guy George. It is waterproof, tunable, and has a nice clear tone on the first octave (I haven't learned to control the second octave yet). Semi tones are easier on this as well. Highly recommended!

Susato Pennywhistle, Oriole Model, High D

I bought a Susato Pennywhistle, Oriole Model, High D for my granddaughter who is a masterful flutist. She had been using a metal pennywhistle to play Irish jigs and reels, but it was a bit harsh and squeaky. When I gave her this Susato whistle and she ran through a few scales, we could both see that this was a great improvement over the metal whistle. And it is tunable. She loves it!

Nice Tone, Great Value

I picked up one of these at a dulcimer festival. It replaced a metal whistle that I had. This is easier to play, and has a clearer, less-harsh tone. Quality made.
