Folkcraft® Tuning Wrench, Clock Key Style
Regular price $8.00
I thought I would give this tuning wrench a try, on my bowed psaltery. The "T" design of wrenches always work better than the "L" design. This is small and simple, but it works well. I really like it. I think I even get more precise tuning than with my much bigger (and expensive) "T" wrench, because I'm using my fingers instead of my whole hand to turn it. Love its compact design too!
I wish I had one of these years ago. My pins turn relatively easily, and the big wrench seemed like overkill. The clock type wrench fits absolutely perfectly, and facilitates quick winding, unlike the ordeal of the big wrench. Precise adjustments are easy(if your pins are reasonably easy turning).
This brass key is part of the reason I knew I had to place an order.
Looks cool on your hammered dulcimer. Works fine but would be easier to use if the handles were larger. I wouldn't use it for my regular tuning wrench - I have a large handled tuning wrench with a star hole which is much easier to use since I do not have a lot of strength in my hands.
This is a very handy tool for tuning standard zither pins, and a good value too!
Works great, classic brass look, and the holes make it easy to put on a key chain or otherwise tie to the instrument itself (for those with a tendency to drop and lose things.)
