I have completed several of these kits. I am very pleased with the results. all are playable and look good. I wonder why some people are having trouble with this. You know what a dulcimer looks like and you know the parts. Just put them together. I do use the kit as a starting point. I use other woods and I do use knerf strips so I guess Im a little more advanced with these kits. I am very impressed with the quality provided and have zero problem recommending them. I am hoping that rosewood becomes available soon.
Nina provides 2-3 versions of every song. I love that I can start with the beginner version to play Celtic music and then have the more advanced versions as I improve. Nina's songs and tab never disappoint! Another great book.
This is great quality brass wire! However, I'm not using it for musical instrument strings, so I can't give you a valid description of tone or playability. I actually used this wire as filler rod for a very special cold TIG welding project. As far as that went, the wire produced beautiful welds, that when dressed & polished, were indistinguishable from the original metal.
I liked these books because the arrangements are beautiful and the songs include a melody version and an accompaniment version.
Great tone! The smooth windings on the bass strings really cuts down on the string squeak and gives you nice smooth slides. I'm very happy with mine!
Used these strings for two home made Teardrop dulcimers that I've made and they sound real nice. Using The Folkcraft Anchor pins is the easiest way to go for attachment points.
