FolkRoots® H Series Dulcimers

The FolkRoots® H Series has the same big, powerful voice as our D Series, with two upgrades: a flat head with four tuners, and an ebony fretboard veneer. It's the dulcimer we most often recommend to players who are just getting started.

The H Series uses our larger California body, 8" wide at the lower bout and 2 1/4" deep, for a loud, mellow, guitar-like tone. Choose from domestic and exotic woods, seven scale lengths, dozens of sound hole designs and three fret patterns. It's usually strung with three strings in DAD, and we can set it up for four.

Every H Series dulcimer is handmade, one at a time, in our wood shop in Rock, Michigan. Play one for a year or two, and when you're ready for more, we'll help you design the perfect Folkcraft Custom Series dulcimer.
