Folkcraft® Sitka Spruce Dulcimer Top, Two-Piece Bookmatched, Unassembled
Regular price $66.00
I used it for back of Dulcimer and it finished very nice. I had some rosewood I used for sides and Alaska spruce for top, Turned out very nice.
I am very pleased with the neck, well made and looking forward to using on the dulcimer I'm in the process to build
nice grain, nicely matched
These sides worked well. The only fault I found with them was some water stains that didn't want to sand out. Using a dark walnut stain hid them, so it wasn't a problem.
I just bought a black walnut dulcimer fingerboard from Folkcraft. I've been wanting to try an instrument with a 1.5 fret, and Richard kindly added a fret to their standard product for a nominal fee. It arrived quickly in spite of being a somewhat custom order. Intonation is perfect, the neck is straight, and the frets are level. I built a solid body electric dulcimer around the Folkcraft fingerboard. My pickup installation looks a bit clunky, but it's solid. The instrument sounds great. I'll probably order another fingerboard soon and build another that's a bit fancier. I may even try to build an acoustic next time.
