Nine favorite hymns, spirituals and shape-note songs, arranged by Larry Conger for the dulcimer ensemble. Every song has a separate part for each player - two or three standard dulcimers, with baritone or bass dulcimer on most songs - plus a conductor's score showing every part at once. Several tunes are arranged in the Sacred Harp tradition, from old American tunebooks such as Union Harmony (1837) and Hymns and Tunes (1886). Standard and bass dulcimer parts are in DAD tuning, and baritone parts in ADA.
Please note: the arrangements in this book are written in tablature only, not in the more common standard notation with tablature.
Two-page parts are laid out to open flat across facing pages, so no player has a page turn in the middle of a part. A rewarding repertoire for dulcimer clubs, church groups and festival ensembles.
