Here's something you don't see every day - a dulcimer fretboard with a "scroll head" build into the end of the fretboard! This fretboard has a 27" VSL, diatonic pattern with the added 6.5 fret, and the "head" accommodates three machine heads/tuners.
Here are the dimensions (overall) of the fingerboard: the blank is 1 3/8” wide, 3/4” high, and 32” long. We've cut slots for the nut and bridge (1/8” wide), and cut slots for a standard fret pattern, including the 6 1/2 fret.
Our fretboard is made of African mahogany, which looks great and is very, very stable.
