Design Your Own Folkcraft® Custom Series Courting Mountain Dulcimer
Design Your Own Folkcraft® Custom Series Courting Mountain Dulcimer
Item Number 9122361
A courting dulcimer has two fretboards set opposite each other on one wide body, so two people can sit face to face and play the same instrument. Each side can be tuned differently, so one player can carry the melody while the other plays harmony or a lower part.
As with all our Custom Series instruments, you choose the woods, sound holes, scale lengths and fret patterns for each side. Legend says courting dulcimers let a young couple sit close under a watchful parent's eye.
Each one comes with our USA-made carrying case and strap buttons, is built in Rock, Michigan, and carries our five-year warranty. Please allow three to four months for us to build it.
Not sure which options to choose? Our reference page explains them, and you're always welcome to call us at (317) 539-1855.
