Delrin Plastic Nut And Bridge Stock, Black

I have used both this product as well as Folkcraft's Pre-slotted Delrin Nut and Bridge pieces. If I want to save time on the build I will use the slightly more expensive pre-slotted versions but to save the buyer a little money I enjoy using the stock that I cut, shape and slot at my own pace.
As always with Folkcraft, service was accurate, quick and just what I expected. Never any suprises with Richard and his people, (unless they are good suprises!)

John Ellis, Sunny Day Dulcimers, Arlington WA,

I am learning how to cut and shape nuts and saddles in my engineering maintenance course. So I purchased some and tried it out and it works fine. So I showed my neighbor how to cut and shape a nut for his kit ukulele. He did a great job for knowing nothing. He was just a little hesitant in sawing and sanding. But this material is so inexpensive that you can afford to make your own.

Delrin Plastic Nut And Bridge Stock, Black

I purchased an older dulcimer that was missing its nut. The existing slot for the nut was narrower than the standard 1/8” Derlin nuts that Folkcraft offers, so I bought the Bridge and Nut Stock and sanded it down to the thickness I needed. It took a while to do, but it was easy to work with and worth the effort. So, actually, making the nut didn’t make me nuts!

The Delrin nut and bridge material works very well. It's hard enough that the strings don't cut into it, and easy to work with.
