If your dulcimer is in need of new "Tuning Machines" you have come to the right place! This four-pack of dulcimer tuning pegs with bone-colored buttons is just what you are looking for.

The diameter of each shaft is .236", so a 1/4" hole in your scroll head will be just the right size. On our bone-colored button tuning pegs, the gear ratio is 14:1. The shaft length is 1 and 1/32" (just over an inch), measured from the inside of the plate to the tip of the shaft.

There are two holes in the shaft. The first hole is approximately 1/2" from the inside of the plate. The second hole is approximately 7/8" from the inside of the plate.

These are great. I replaced the old fashioned tuners which I had to use a screwdriver every time I tuned my dulcimer. Now its easy.

Machine heads used on a dulcimer

A friend has a backpack 4 string dulcimer that suffered a bent shaft on a machine head. Folkcraft has a set of four heads that are identical to the original. these worked well once installed but, the screws packaged with the new machine heads are made with quite soft metal, such that you can round out the phillips head easily. I just want you to be aware to avoid any disappointment.

Reliable tuning gears

Good solid tuning gears, easy to install once you figure what side they each go on. Maybe they were labeled left and right but I didn't see any marks. I'm very happy with the tuners.
