Shelley Stevens - The Baker's Dozen: 13 Songs And Tunes For Mountain Dulcimer - Volume 9 - My First Dulcimer Book

Item Number 90217243

Sale price $4.99 Regular price $17.00

This book is part of the ever-popular Baker's Dozen series by Shelley Stevens. With twelve tunes instead of the usual thirteen, this set of arrangements for young hands features both one-sting (melody string only) and two-string (melody and middle strings) versions of nearly every song in the book.

Familiar tunes to get young hands comfortable playing the dulcimer. Awesome!

Shelley's Books #11, #3, #11

I now have all her books, I ordered her other books for our group, so we all have the same. The simplicity of her books make it nice for advanced and some beginner players. Hyms for 2 is great, a much fuller sound ,

Great Books

Shelley is a great dulcimer player and a superior arranger of tunes. Her books are perfect examples of this. I'm glad to have them.

Honky Tonk and Ragtime

I was very excited to get a Shelley Steven tab book on sale. I bought 3 copies for my small group of players as Christmas gifts because I knew one player had an interest in this type of tune. This tab is clearly not for the new beginning player however. I’m struggling with these tunes myself.

Kick Out the Jams

Another book from Shelley Stevens' Baker's Dozen series, "#12 Jam Tunes and Beyond" includes a number of familiar numbers and a handful of new ones for me, such as Billy in the Low Ground, June Apple and Ragtime Annie. The latter one seems like a tune that missed the cut from her "#10 Ragtime and Honkytonk" book. If Folkcraft offers the other nine books from the series at the same discounted price, I would probably get them--ideally if all were offered at once to save on shipping.
