"At home I have two cabinets I built especially for my dulcimers, all pretty with antique glass. At work, I have one dulcimer that moves around the room from corner to corner so it's always handy when I have a moment. Both forms of storage seem to promote good health to my instruments."

"My ukulele and my guitar are on stands next to the sofa within easy reach while I'm awake and close at hand. At night and other times when I'm not going to play for a while, they're in their cases - safe and sound. In cold weather months, the ukuleles in their cases are in the near upright position to properly accommodate the Oasis humidification system."

"My hammered dulcimer sets out on its stand all the time. I make regular time for practice, but I also find little snippets of time to practice or play every day. Even 5-10 minutes of practicing a difficult passage makes a world of difference. I treat the dulcimer just like I do my piano - it is a piece of furniture that makes lovely music and it looks lovely setting out on its stand. So there it stays."
