Musical Instrument Of The Year At Ronan's Recording Show

The end of May is a bit late in mentioning it, but we recently found out that Folkcraft Instruments was named 2010 "Musical Instrument Of The Year" for the first annual Gear Of The Year Awards at Ronan's Recording Show. For those of you who follow the Folkcraft community blogs, you may remember our first meeting with Ronan Chris Murphy during the 2010 NAMM Show out in Anaheim, California (read that post here).

An Appalachian dulcimer is the last thing you'd expect to be mentioned on an award show for audio production and engineering (other categories included "Monitoring Technology," "Software," and "Studio Accessories"). But it just goes to show that the dulcimer is universal, and can fit in the lives and laps of all types of people.

Amongst the soundboards and synthesizers, Ronan and his FSH dulcimer share the spotlight.

"...as much as I love mic pres, compressors, software updates... there is nothing else I've bought this year that has brought me as much fun and musical joy as this instrument."

Thanks for the continued support, Ronan.

Ronan's Gear Of The Year episode may be viewed below (since we are at the Folkcraft web site, I'm sure Ronan won't mind if you fast forward to the 11 minute 36 second mark to watch Folkcraft get the award!).
