Getting Ready For The Year Of The Resonator

Back in July of 2011, Folkcraft Instruments introduced the Folkcraft Resonator model dulcimer. A variety of Resonators have been shipped around the world since then, all to thunderous applause and high praise.

If you're a frequent reader of the Folkcraft Newsletter, you may remember a story on the Signature Resonator we made for Folkcraft endorsing artist, Bing Futch. And for those in uke world, you'll see ukulele great Lil Rev playing his own Folkcraft Resonator very soon (he has it now, and is preparing to unleash it to his audience and fans next year).

With over 3 years in the making and now 2 great artists exclusively playing their own, we've decided a push on the Folkcraft Resonators would be appropriate. With that in mind, we've begun preparations for what is sure to be known as the "Year of the Resonator."

We've always held Honduras mahogany in such high regard for its tonal qualities in acoustic instruments. The ukuleles sound great. The mountain dulcimers are fantastic. So it only makes sense to let the Resonators partake in our Honduras collection.

At the time of this posting, Bing has mostly wrapped his musically inclined brain around his new Signature model. And from the sounds of it, he'll be bringing a whole new level to the Resonator's possibilities. Add to that the talent and musical innovation of Lil Rev, and you can imagine our excitement for what's in store for the Folkcraft Resonator dulcimer.
