Here's a nice festival for Y'all to visit - the Dayton Dulcimer Doins. This event is over 40 years old, and going strong. Held in the town of Maria Stein, Ohio, this residential festival (lodging on site!) is one you should definitely visit.

Castaway Music Cruise, 2025 Edition
Location? All over the Caribbean

How would you feel about spending some time on a beautiful cruise ship (Norwegian Cruise Lines, Epic) in the dead of winter, taking dulcimer classes with some new dulcimer friends, visiting interesting ports (St. Thomas, Bahamas, etc.), and generally having a great time? 

As an extension of the Florida Gulf Coast Dulcimer Retreat, we've been doing this dulcimer cruise for years and years. Next year (our 11th anniversary) we're putting the land portion of the Retreat on hold, and we're putting on a special 7-night cruise, departing from Port Canaveral, Florida on February 22, 2025, and returning to Port Canaveral on March 1, 2025. 

Instructors? Bing Futch, Guy George, Sharrie George, and Folkcraft's very own Richard Ash. Bing will be teaching mountain dulcimer and Native American flute, Guy will be teaching steel drum and pennywhistle, Sharrie will be teaching ukulele, and Richard will be teaching mountain dulcimer.

The cost to register for the music/instruction portion of this cruise is $299, and the current cap on attendance is set at 30 guests. We're hoping this cap will be raised a bit as we negotiate for more space (bigger conference room!) with the cruise line.

Second Saturday Clinic with Bing Futch
Folkcraft Instruments Concert Hall

Join in the fun with Bing Futch on this special Second Saturday Clinic hosted by Folkcraft Instruments. We'll have a jam at 10:00, followed by a clinic starting at noon. We'll take a lunch break around 1:00, and resume the clinic after eating.

The clinic is "hands-on" - bring your mountain dulcimer!

After we wrap up the class at about 4:00, you'll be serenaded with a 30-minute performance by our esteemed instructor.

The class size for this clinic is limited, so we do require pre-registration.

Registration will open in January of 2025.

This is one of the larger festivals around - lots and lots of hammered dulcimer, mountain dulcimer, fiddle, banjo, whistle and all kinds of other traditional acoustic instruments.

Folkcraft will be vending (look in the lower-level barn for the display of instruments!), and Folkcraft owner Richard Ash will be on hand helping you choose (either from our inventory on site, or something we can build in our shop, just for you) the perfect dulcimer.

Black Mountain Music Fest

This is one of the premier festivals around - just a handful of years old, and already revered by millions. Well, thousands anyway. Highly recommended. Great leadership, great venue, great instructors.

Folkcraft will be vending, and Richard Ash will be available during the full festival to help with instrument selection.
