The ultimate set of dulcimer strings. This is very nearly the string set we've been installing on new Folkcraft dulcimers since 2012. The only difference from our stock 4-string set is that this set has a slightly heavier bass string (a .026RW).
Strings in this set:Melody strings (2) .011Middle string: .013Bass string: .026RW
The "RW" stands for Roller-Wound. The roller wound strings have a steel core, with a brass winding. The brass winding has been flattened with rollers, creating a warm sound with very little string squeak.
I always use Folkcraft strings for all my dulcimers. I've tried others in the past but I still think this is the best quality for the price.
When you get your strings from Folkcraft you know they are the correct ones and high quality.
