Dave Haas - Beautiful Arrangements

Dave's books never disappoint. I picked up this one to further my dulcimer journey, after attending Dave's workshops at the Evart FunFest. He represents Folkcraft well and has a great way to teach, live or through his books.

This book is like Dave a great help to make you a better performer. There are a lot of tips to keep your playing interesting. Songs are written in two octaves to accomplish that. Also there intros and outros that make you have that unique style.
Dave even gives you secrets to playing harmonics real and artificial.
If you want to be more professional, whether you playing local events or just for the neighbors Dave helps you become a smooth player you want to be.
Also don't forget The short background on David Schnaufer and his song "When Silence Was Golden".

Dave continues to provide excellent instruction and exercises in his new Beautiful Arrangement books to play the songs he has set to the mountain dulcimer. This book doesn't disappoint!

The teaching sections are well paired with the songs in this book. The arrangements can be challenging, but very doable to duplicate, with practice. This is yet another winning book from Dave Haas.
