The Folkcraft wood shop has just finished its first 7-string Appalachian dulcimer. This oversized beauty is a custom teardrop instrument.

Per the request of guitar virtuoso and music veteran Steve Ferguson, this instrument is over double in width size of a traditional teardrop dulcimer. The idea of this dulcimer had been with Steve for quite some time, as he initially discussed this with original Folkcraft owner David Marks.
 
After numerous phone conversations, emails, drawings and brainstorms, this dulcimer has finally seen the light of day.
