Folkcraft: How long have you been playing the dulcimer?
Karen: I started trying to play dulcimer in 2010. Struggled because I got a dulcimer that had a 28-inch VSL. I have small hands, so It didn’t work out too well.
Folkcraft: When did you get your first Folkcraft dulcimer?
Karen: I accidentally came across a Folkcraft dulcimer later in 2010 and fell in love with it. It also had a shorter VSL. I recently purchased a custom dulcimer from Folkcraft - with Crawfish and Morel sound holes! Thank you, Richard, they are beautiful! It sounds so amazing! So now I have three Folkcraft dulcimers: two hourglass and one teardrop.
Folkcraft: Where do you enjoy playing your dulcimer?
Karen: I enjoy playing at church, festivals, and with our group here in Missouri.
Folkcraft: What other hobbies or interest do you have besides playing dulcimer?
Karen: I enjoy hiking, reading, camping, sewing, crochet, and I’m trying to learn to play ukulele and ubass. The dulcimer is still my favorite, though.
