Folkcraft Player - Rhonda Hayes
I have wanted to be a musician all my life but after unsuccessful guitar lessons as a kid and a series of banjo lessons as a young adult (which were equally unsuccessful), I decided that I didn’t have what it takes to be a musician.
Fast forward a few decades and I impulsively bought a dulcimer at Dollywood and it stayed in the closet for a couple of years. As I was preparing to retire I decided I needed a retirement hobby and found the great Kathy Wilson who patiently taught me how to play.
When I saw the Folkcraft LAP-JO, I had to have one because I love the traditional banjo sound. I still will never be a musician – I don’t know music theory, I can’t play by ear, and it takes me a while to catch onto tab but I enjoy playing a lot, and that’s what counts.
