Mountain Dulcimers, Ready To Ship

Every dulcimer on this page is finished, set up, and ready to ship to you now, with no wait for a custom build. We've been handcrafting dulcimers since 1968, and each one is made one at a time, from solid woods, in our wood shop in Rock, Michigan.

You'll find our full range here when we have them in stock:

  • FolkRoots® D and H Series: our larger California body (about 8" wide, 2 1/4" deep), with a big, bold, guitar-like voice. Our loudest dulcimers, and a favorite at jams.
  • Folkcraft® FSH Series: our smaller Kentucky body, with the sweet, delicate tone of the old Ohio River Valley dulcimers.
  • Folkcraft® Custom Series: our most refined tone, with premium woods and details like the contemporary flat head and Galax back.
  • DulciVox®: a guitar-braced dulcimer with a wide body for extra volume and sustain.

Each instrument comes with a padded carrying case with shoulder strap, and strap buttons installed. Most are strung DAD with a 25" or 26" scale length. Need it strung as a baritone or bass, or set up left-handed? Ask before we ship, and we'll do it in the shop.

Each ready-to-ship dulcimer is one of a kind. When it's gone, it's gone. Don't see the wood or setup you want? Design your own and we'll build it for you.
