Folkroot Mountain dulcimer

I don't do many reviews for anything, but I feel this one is worth my time.
This dulcimer is my second dulcimer. I wanted a dulcimer that's worth my money and time to learn to play. (BTW I'm an old man that wants something to carry with him for the rest of his life. I have no musical background other than loving music) so, in all my years of life, I've learned one thing, you get what you pay for.
A good quality instrument, or anything for that matter will carry you further and with less frustration. So in short, that's why I bought this one and I have no regrets. Hopefully one day, I learn how to play proficiently, and I'll be happy to buy another instrument from folkcraft Instruments.

Could not be happier with my Beautiful Sounding as well as looking Mountain Dulcimer. The company stays in touch with you along the process and are super courteous and polite. There are also many helpful learning sources available to you from them. I named my new dulcimer Georgie Boy.

Chromatic Series H Walnut Body, Maple Top

About a month ago, I ordered and received a chromatic, walnut body, maple top dulcimer. I already have a Folkcraft walnut body, butternut top with a diatonic fret pattern that I love. The chromatic dulcimer arrived well packed and in perfect condition within a week after I ordered it.

This is an absolutely beautiful instrument, with a beautiful mellow sound. I bought a chromatic dulcimer for several reasons. One reason was the versatility that the chromatic scale allows. The second was the hope that I would learn more music theory using it. This lovely dulcimer is certainly fulfilling both.

Beautiful Custom MaxDAD!

I waited anxiously for my first ever custom made instrument and am very pleased with the dulcimer. I play many different instruments- pretty much anything you can blow into, bang on or strum. I played an older commercially manufactured dulcimer for a few years and love the simplicity of the instrument so I made the commitment to a custom instrument. I love, love, love my MaxDAD H-Series dulcimer with Galax back. Just looking at and SMELLING it makes me smile. When I play, it's almost like it plays itself, it sounds so magically beautiful. The action is perfect, the tone is sweet and the volume is pleasing. Thank you to Jim (luthier for my beauty), Richard and the entire Folkcraft team.
