Folkcraft CSH Series Dulcimer, Poplar Body, Yellow Pine Top, Serial Number 8111061

Item number 8111061, Regular price $740.00

Here's a sweet-sounding Folkcraft CSH Series mountain dulcimer. Sitting between the FSH Series and the Custom Series lines, the CSH Series provides some of the features of either group.

With a traditionally-sized body (1 3/4" tall sides, and a 7" wide lower bout), this instrument has a sweet, mellow tone quality. The poplar body, paired with a yellow pine top, gives plenty of punch and volume, but not so much as our largest "California-style" bodies. Even though this isn't our loudest instrument, it is louder than most dulcimers, and will certainly hold its own in a jam.

We've set this dulcimer up with three strings, and tuned it to DAD. Four geared tuners are installed, along with four anchor pins, so if you ever want to add a fourth string, it will be just a matter of adding an extra slot in the nut and in the bridge.

Listen to the video of this dulcimer - you'll hear the sweetness and warmth. Call with any questions, or order online, knowing that a return isn't a problem if this isn't the instrument for you.

This handmade dulcimer comes with our padded dulcimer case (item 2851910) which is also made in our Woodburn, Indiana workshop.

When people think of heirloom-quality instruments, they think of Folkcraft.

Here's why: Folkcraft instruments are handmade in the United States of America, not in a cheap overseas factory. Our instruments are hand crafted one at a time, not on an assembly line. Our instruments are made of solid woods, not out of plywood.

“Handmade in the USA since 1968.” It's not only a slogan, but your assurance that you are playing the best folk instruments ever made. People choose Folkcraft for our deep-rooted tradition in quality, pure acoustic tone, and the simple joy that is brought from playing the instrument.

We put our heart and soul into every instrument we make – a technique that began nearly 50 years ago and is proudly maintained today. Go ahead and play one. We think you'll find your own heart and soul going into the music you create on a Folkcraft.
